I'm using s7-1200. I have 5 analog input in my project: 

- 4 analog input 2 wire current 4..20ma

-1 pt100.

when I create HW configuration, I see that I cannot change measurement type of sm1231 AI4*13 bits (as you see in attachment) for channel 1 and channel 3 only voltage measurement type. but with sm1231 AI4*16 bits I can change current measurement type for all channel.

so, is that mean i cannot use sm1231 AI4* 13 bits for my project?

Can you please help me for the best choice of analog module necessary for my project?

What about pt100, can I wire it to AI of cpu1214c or I have to buy sm1231 AI4*RTD?

Confirming what are referring to ->

The 13bit analog input card the analog channels are linked with each other for the current or voltage setting.
- channel 1 with 2 
- channel 3 with 4

It is possible to have one pair set to current measurement and the other pair set to voltage. Or have all at current and all at voltage. The measurement range is configurable individually to what is available.

the 4AI-module has 4 analog inputs for voltage or current, selectable in groups of 2, as it is desribed in the manual:

I have not made mention of the 16bit.

What you configure for Channel 1 for voltage/current will automatically be for Channel 2. Channel 3 and 4 is linked to each other, but not linked to Channel 1 and 2.

Please "play" with the configuration again.

Bad numbering... channels are 0, 1, 2 and 3!   sorry
Please look at channel 0 and 2 -- both can set to "current" to make all 4 channels be current measurements.
