Delayed increase of a DINT in SCL

Like that: IF #SetPosition > #IsPosition THEN FOR #Position := #IsPosition TO #SetPosition BY 1 DO "Robot_Interface".SetPosition_Turn := #Position; //DELAY 50ms END_FOR; ELSE FOR #Position := #IsPosition TO #SetPosition BY -1 DO "Robot_Interface".SetPosition_Turn := #Position; //DELAY 50ms END_FOR; END_IF; What is the simplest way to add the delay? I tried it with a TON, but couldn't get it to work. And I read online in different forums that those timers dont work that way in a loop. But could never find a working solution. Cheers!

In fact, you do not need any loops to loop your program as the principle is that once a user code is executed it is started over. So, the whole program is one big unconditional loop. IMHO, before trying to code anything, you should understand the principles. I think you should try using the "OB1_PREV_CYCLE" value from the temporary values in OB1. Just load it and transfer it to a MW (make sure to mark it as an Int in the tag table) in the first network of OB1. For the program part you can use something like this: #tNextStep := false; IF (#tStepTimer > 0) THEN #tStepTimer -= "LastCycleTime_ms"; //-- Count down step timer using last PLC scan time [ms] ELSE // Step timer finished, ready for next step and reinitialize for the next step. #tStepTimer := 50; #tNextStep := true; END_IF; IF (#tNextStep) THEN // This piece of code is executed every 50 ms // Increase/Decrease your step by one (Position += 1; or Position -= 1;) // Add a way to determine if you want to increase or decrease your position... ; END_IF; Please note that you should always take advantage of the looping environment a PLC program runs in. Good luck with your schoolproject.
