Solution : Set the encoder as cyclic absolute and use mode 7 for MC_HOME.

I'm using a S120 CU320-2 PN + Power module + 1FK7 motor with drive-cliq encoder for a rotary axis. It's controlled by a technology object "Positioning axis".

The encoder is configured as Rotary absolute, 2048 increments per revolution, 4096 revolutions and using telegram 3.

So far :
- Homing : OK
- Absolute positioning : OK

But, on power loss (in standstill), the position seems to be kept, but I'm losing the "Homed" status...

According to documentation, it should not be lost :

unknown user

Technology objects with absolute actual values:

• Error in sensor system/encoder failure

• Replacement of the CPU

• Modification of the encoder configuration

• Restoration of the CPU factory settings

• Transfer of a different project into the controller

A RAM to ROM copy has been done and changes nothing.

Hello,

in most cases the setting for the encoder in the technology is set wrongly. For the absolute encoder with multiturn please select "cyclic absolute" for the encoder and not "absolute".

Then the encoder overflows are counted and stored retentively.

Thanks for your feedback. I've changed the encoder parameters as shown on the attached screenshot. 

No major changes :
- Encoder value is not lost on power off (OK)
- Homed is lost on power off (NOK).

Did you use Mode 6 or 7 of the MC_Home?

 I was using 0. Changing it to 7 solved the problem, thanks a lot Miami !
