Hello,

with the LU per load revolution you define your own resolution and unit for your positioning.

So the setting depends on your mechanics and your wanted positioning unit (°, mm, inches,...).

The first question you should ask yourself is: Which distance / angle the load is moving forward by one load revolution and which unit do I want to have for it?

The second question is: Which resolution do I want to have for my positioning accuracy?

So an example for a rotary system (e.g. cross cutter):

The load is moved 360° by one load revolution. To get a good accuracy you use a resolution of 1 milli degree (1LU = 1milli degree) -> so the LU per load revolution (p2506) = 360 000 LU per load revolution. (1000 LU = 1° or 90° = 90 000 LU for example).

Another example for a linear system (e.g. flying saw linear axis):

The load is moved by 10mm in case of one load revolution (because the spindle pitch is 10mm). To get a good accuracy you use a resolution of 1 µm (1LU = 1µm) -> so the LU per load revolution = 10 000 LU per load revolution. (1000 LU = 1mm or 20 mm = 20 000LU for example).

This way you can use any user defined unit and resolution you want. It does not need to be an SI unit like mm or degree. Everything is possible, depending on your mechanics.
