prandilaeb Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody, i have a project of many drive made with fw 4.8. 1- New one is with fw 5.1, how can upgrade the project without rebuilt all the drives? In starter there was the rigth click "update version", how to do in startdrives V15? 2- How to enbale dc bus parallel circuit, in wizard there's no possibility (in starter yes) Thanks for answers Paolo

Here is an FAQ which describes how to do it without deleting and reconfiguring the drives: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109755173 (please sea chapter 5 in the manual)

New project is 5.1 so i cannot download old project in current CU because i cannot connect. I even cannot copy drive by drive from old cu to new one (incredible). If i understood i should download my project using starter, and then try to follow the step of the tutorial, i am rigth? Any idea about DC bus parallel circuit? Thanks again

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 6047 Rating: (828)	Hello, the FAQ is intended to be used if you have one of these use cases: - the device with FW4.8 is still available and should be upgraded (project and device upgrade) - the offline project with FW4.8 available and you can download it to any Control Unit with FW4.8 and then upgrade the project using the CU What exactly do you mean with parallel connection of DC bus? Do you mean a parallel connection of infeed units?

Regarding the parallel connection of line modules: I know that in Startdrive 15.1 it is possible to parallel connect chassis modules. You can insert the first line module to your device configuration and then you can drag&drop a second line module onto your fist one.
