I use simotion D-425-2 I have 4 axis synchronize together.

I need to stop some axis faster than the other.

How can I do it ?

- Normal stop without abort  

- Normal stop with abort

- Quick stop at maximum deceleration

- Quick stop within defined period

- Stopping with preassigned braking ramp

- Quick stop with dynamic response parameters

- Position-controlled

- Speed controlled

- Last set traversing mode

If you want to stop "quickly" your axis, disregarding where it will be its final position but you want just stop it fast, use: Quick stop within defined period. You set a time (i.e. 1.2 seconds) and the axis will "try" to stop itself in 1.2 seconds

If you want to stop quickly, but using a defined (maximum) deceleration, use Quick stop at maximum deceleration, you don't know in how much time the axis will stop (you need to calculate that if you want by considering also the initial speed), but the motor will use the maximum deceleration to stop.

If you want to perform a phased stop, because you want that your final axis will go to a precise position after you launch the stop command, then these stop commands does not help you, and the strategy is antoher.

I suggest to use always Last set traversing mode so you do not have to bother if axis was speed or position controlled, system will automatically recognize the "traversing mode" of the axis.
