But here in this forum you can find a lot of threads about some tricks to install and after that working with this application. For example: wincc v6.2 installation with XP-SP3 best regards

But the SP3 is not supported to the WinCC 6.2 Is there any solution for that? hi To resolve this issue u have to create a folder like this open your Registry Editor and add the following registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP3\KB319740] Reboot your PC and you should now be able to install WinCC without any problems. JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	If WinCC is not released for a particular version of OS, I would suggest not to install it in that version. You may be able to fool the installation utility. But there could be problems with WinCC that can be caused by SP3. And Siemens may not support you for the problem if you have installed on wrong OS version. I would format PC and put XP SP2.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, I agree with JMJ... there are workarounds which will make the system apparently work... but yu'll never know for sure when or if something's wrong, and you may get undocumented and unsupported errors.. When Siemens releases a software for a certain OS it means it's been completely tested and no problems were found... using a workaround means you'll "push" the program into the computer, not that all the functionallities will work, even though on the surface it may seem it's all going well.... and you'll also have no support from Siemens...
