We have recently ordered following items for a new project, selected with help of Sizer software.

CPU1511T will be interfaced with Sinamics drive package above for machine control. Hardware hasn’t been delivered yet by Siemens, so in the meanwhile I tried to configure the selected items in TIA Portal V15.1.

The first problem is that Sizer software suggested 6SL3054-0EJ00-1BA0 V4.8, whereas latest firmware version is I think V5.2. What is the significance of this difference? Should I change the order and revise CF card to latest available i.e. 6SL3054-0FC00-1BA0 V5.2?

Second problem is that TIA Portal does not allow PM240-2 to be inserted in HW configuration along with CU320-2. After reading the following topic, I found that PM240-2 is coupled with G120 and hence supports only CU240-2.

I have Starter V4.4 installed on another system, but it does not show SSP 4.8 installed. From Siemens website I found that version V4.5 is required for configuring V4.8 drives. If I upgrade Starter V4.4 to current version, will my previous projects which mostly include S7-300 + G120C drives still work?

So which software packages do I ideally need to configure the above hardware within TIA Portal?

Hello,

1.) the only difference is the FW Version which is on the CF Card
You can order the one from sizer and replace the V4.8 with V5.2 or order directly the CF with V5.2

2.) Starter Update should be no problem. the project can be used with the newer version without any problem

3.)the configuration you list ist not configurable in tia

1) Can the FW 4.8 be updated to FW 5.2 from Starter without having to pay for another CF card?

2) If the hardware is not configurable via TIA Portal, how do I go about creating a project? Any link to manual that covers this will be very helpful.

1.) starter doesn't make a FW Update on the target
THE FW Upddate is performed with the CF (Delete the old one and copy the one on the CF)

2.)not sure what you mean
You configure the Drive Configuration in STarter and download it to the target
In TIA you insert the GSDML and make the same telegramconfig like in starter.
