how to write to initial values

Swami_GS Posts: 43 Rating: (0)	Hello All, Once again its meJust wanted to know can i overwrite Intial values for a signal in a particular datablock. I intialise one DB with some intial values, and later on from HMI when i change value i need to overwrite the actual value as well as inital value. and the initial value should be saved. Is there any way to do??

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (1000)	In this case, just use a second DB for your "Default" values and copy them back if needed. Also, feel free to use my example ""DB - Initialisierung mit SFC83" AWL" that you can find as free download at my Homepage.

In one DB(DByyyy) i already gave some inital value, and when a particular event or when operator selects from HMI a profile, the DB(DByyyy) with intial values are copied to another DB(DBxxx-Tags in HMI are connected to this particualr DB). I use BLKMOV(SFC20) to move values from DByyyy to DBxxxx. Later on the operator can change directly some values in HMI for DBxxxx according to process. Now my task is i need to save this value to inital value of DByyyy. I will give a button in HMI as SAVE, when operator changes value in HMI which is connected to DBxxxx,i need this value to be transferred to initial values of DByyyy. How can i do this? Please let me know if you you need any clarifications

Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/14/2025 Posts: 1696 Rating: (433)	Hi I understand You want to make sort of machine setup configurable from the HMI with option to make backup of it and to restore to factory defaults [i.e. "as commissioned" values]. What I do is 1. have "const" data block with all machine parameters 2. have FC which sets all data when user presses "Factory Defaults" button 3. in case of backup You can make a second data block with same structure and copy data to it when user presses "backup". copy back when user presses "restore". it could be useful to make it possible to examine data by user before restore i.e. copy screen with machine setup, make fields read-only and pointing to backup data block. of course setup changes would be permitted when machine is not running in automatic (to prevent any unexpected behavior)

Also there is no system function for this purpose in my knowledge. U need to search it!!!!!!!!!!
