My company has  ET 200SP CPU connected to TP700 HMI panel at clients site. Client gives us access to the PLC and HMI with Cisco AnyConnect VPN adapter. On site they use also NAT router to separate automation devices. I can connect to PLC with VPN address using PG/PC interface : Ethernet adapter (not even Cisco VPN), I can monitor the program and download updates, everything is just fine.

When I try to connect to HMI using PG/PC interface : Ethernet adapter, it does not even find the HMI. Then I select Cisco VPN adapter and it successfully finds the HMI. But it displays the error message:

Failed to establish a connection to the device with address ..... . An additional project-specific address is required.

I press GoOnline and get dialog window:

Assign IP address. To execute this function PG/PC requires an additional IP address in the same subnet as the device.

I press Yes and get error:

Adding new IP address failed. IP address is already in use.

And then:

Connection failed. The selected online target could not be reached.

I can ping the panel and I connect to it with VNC. I think that VPN adapter does not let to add that additional address somehow.

Maybe something must be changed in adapter settings? Is it a common issue, is it at all possible to connect to Siemens panel with TIA through VPN tunnel?

We have the same issue in all the panels that we use.
