Hello Everyone,

We are using PCS7/Batch V8.2, and are struggling to get the simple feature of auto-archiving of closed batches to a directory to work. If i test the connection to the directory for archiving from the BCC settings, (eg. \\CLIENT3\ARCHIVING) from Client 3, our recipe editing PC, the connection is fine. But if i test it from the other clients, i get the error message SIMATIC BATCH: CONTROL CENTRE DIRECTORY "\\CLIENT3\ARCHIVING" DOES NOT EXIST OR ACCESS IS DENIED. LOGON FAILURE: UNKNOWN USER NAME OR BAD PASSWORD. Even if logged on as Administrator.

The directory is shared, and 'Everyone' has read and write permission. If i am on another client, i can access the folder, and create and delete files, eg a text file, from windows explorer.

The Users on the other clients have been given the permission to archive batches. From Client 3, i am able to archive batches from Batch Control Centre, but the auto-archiving refuses to work, even though set to archive 7 days after being closed. The batches are closed from the other clients, and not from client 3, so it's almost as if it will only archive from the PC that it was closed from.

I feel there is something small i need to do to get this to work!

I have the exact same thing on my Clients.

On my ES it's working fine.

So if anyone has an idea please let us know.

Accidently stumbled on this one.

In Batch Control Center, go to 'Options>Settings>Project Settings'.

Here you can see a 'tab' 'User Credentials'. Fill in the windows user that you use on your Batch Server. This one should have modify access to the archive folder.

When filled in, batch CC uses this user account for the archiving, in stead of the windows user of your client.
