WouldI consider PC as startingnode of this segment or not? Would itbe different ifI use MPI/DP PC adapter?

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear H-H, the Termination of a PROFIBUS Line has to be done at the physical beginning and the physical end of the PROFIBUS line. This can easily be detected by the number of cables running into the PROFIBUS connector, if you have only one cable in the Connector this is the beginning or the end of a line. The cable has to be inserted into the Connector at the point the arrow directs into the Connector, the other insert is for cascading the Connectors. Please verify the cable connection very carefully. JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	I am not sure what interface is being used for PG/PC connection. Normally the best practice is to Use 2 CPUs connected directly with a profibus cable. Both side terminators ON. (Make sure when terminator is ON, the cable that is connected to the cable entry of the connectorwith up arrow. This is very important asturnign terminator ONcuts offthe other side of the connector {down arrow} from the rest of thenetwork) Now I will use a Profibus connector with PG port to plugin my PG/PC interface. If this is not available, just for the sake of it, try connecting you PG/PC interface in the middle of the network.

PC with CP 5611, I'm asking now, Does CP5611 apply this 5VDC to the bus in case termination is ON and PC is the starting node? I think yes it does. PG with built i CP, Now if I have a PG with built in CP, I will connect it with Profibus cable and connector, I'll put this connector over a connector with PG interfacewhich is connected to the PLC (Starting node). Should I leave termination as it is (ON on both CPUs)? PC with PC adapter, By reading previous replies, I can say that PC adapter has no effect on BUS. I mean I can connect it to the starting node or to the ending one without changing my termination. Isn't it?

I can see both the nodes now when I click accesible node icon. The termination is off at first PLC and ON at Sencond PLC. and this working fine. Once again, thanks alot for your support.
