if you want to use Output_PWM of a PID technology object, please assign it to a standard digital output (not to a digital output with pulse generator activated!)

These are two different things:

1.)
For Output_PWM the PID technology object calculates the necessary on and off times internally based on the control algorithm. You just assign it to a digital output and the PID instruction switches it on and off as necessary.

2.)
If you activate the pulse generator for a digital output in the hardware configuration of the CPU, you can use it as PWM or PTO, but then you have to use the library instructions "CTRL_PWM" or "CTRL_PTO" to modify the output behavior while your program is executed.
