No, the SINAMICS G120 CU250S-2 PN has a built in interface for encoders. (see https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109751322/85824611083)

The SMC 10/20/30 modules are for CU320-2 based SINAMICS like G130, G150, S120, S150

Please select SMC 30 6SL3055-0AA00-5CA2. Please refer attached sheet for connection details.

  P.S. - If you have only one encoder, you can connect it directly to X2100 connector 15 pin D type connector. You will need SMC module, in case if you need an aditional encoder.

In my application i am using only one encoder.

Actually, i am using drive to run conveyor of 5.5 Meter length. Conveyor carry products & have 2 station. I want to bind the result of stations(OK or Nok) to product inspected at station. I want to track my product with result & at the end of conveyor Robot will sort product good & bad according to my tracking result.

So for that suggest encoder & other details......

 Hi PISCEAN,

I want to track Plates of diameter of 135mm with thickness 1 mm. 

On 1st station  i am checking  thickness of plate if it is 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm then plates are ok.

On  2nd station i am checking quality of label on the plate with the help of camera.

On 3rd station Robot to sort Ok & Nok Plates.

distance between  station is 1.5 meter

and total conveyor length 5.5 Meter

So i want to track plate from station 1 to station 3 along with the results of plate on station 1 & station 2.

maximum 20 plate are available between station 1 to station 3

Conveyor is ruining at a speed of 500 mm/sec maximum.

I know its not a so easy task, if any one have a better idea please share the same.
