If yes, you need to reinstall the firmware again as it could be not very well installed

Hi.

I am trying to update the firmware of an s7-400, however I have been having problems.

But when I try to go online, it asks me for the rack number and the Slot.

I have the CPU inserted in slot 3, since the PS occupies slot 1 and 2, however it gives me problems.

The PLC is new.

Also try to load a program and it gives me errors.

The CPU is 6ES7-417-5HT06-0AB0.

Somebody could help me?

Anyway, you can do the Firmware Update as described below:

At first, you can search this term on Google "upgrade CPU 417-4ht14-0ab0". And you will then be redirected to the relevant page. After download Firmware, extract the file and save it on your PC. In the extracted file, you will find a file called "CPU_HD.UPD" this is the main file you need.

Process steps in Online Upgrade:

1. In Simatic manager select STANDBY CPU

2. In the PLC menu bar, select Update Firmware > in the new page select the Browse option > select the"CPU_HD.UPD"file path > and then click Run.

3. In the next page Active "Auotomativally continue"selection. (in this section your Standby CPU stopped automatically and the new version of Firmware will transfer to it and the self-test will be started. It may take several minutes).

4. After completing the self-test, download the program to the CPU (Standby CPU).

5. In the  "Switch to" page > active " with altered operating system" change this CPU as Master. With this procedure, the second CPU will be stopped. And there will be no system malfunction.

6. Upgrade the next CPU like the previous tips.

***Very important Note: The connection between PC and CPU should not be interrupted while loading the version.
