The second section contains a code snipplet for reading from a file with a loop "While fo.EOF = False". When you use a counter inside this loop, you can count the number of lines in the file.

I have to do this on 3 csv. Considering this I could loop 3 times in a row, reaching a total greater than 1 million repetitions. This I suppose turns into a very long whole script time. Also I should do this on the log files. Opening files from scripts can cause problems if the system data log needs to add lines?

Is there a command, such as for the size in bytes of the file, that can return the number of lines?

Edit:

Trying to read the lines of the file, as per the example script, I have a system message "Error 'the process cannot access the file because ..." system event 20010. The problem seems to be related to the f.open. I believe that opening the file, even if in mode 1, gives problems if this is an archive. Other solutions?
