I am going to power ON old SLM module, name plate as attached.

I am trying to figure out manufacturing year for the same. As per manual I am getting August, 1988. That cannot be right!!

Can some one help me?

And also for more than 2 years of storage capacitor Reforming is recommended. Procedure is to power ON with rated voltage, without any load for 30 mins. same will apply in my case, if it is really very old SLM?

Hello,

The attached snap shot SLM manufacturing month & year is Aug - 2012. Since it is in storage for more than 3-4 years, user need to re-form capacitors. Please refer attached sheet for capacitor re-formation. (Extracted from Siemens Sinamics manual)

Thanks for the answer. I was using old manual. 

But I have one question- Old manual has only one method of DC link forming as described in question. New manual has two options- one in drive setup and other is out of drive setup.

My application has 500KW SLM module supplying to 25 motor modules of different ratings. I dont want to make whole setup for forming because it will take more than 30 mins and I dont have spare motor module at hand now.

Instead as per manual I am going to follow below procedure:
