What is in the diagnostics buffer for the PLC and for the SM1226 when you checked?

Is there a diagnostics error OB in the project so it can handle alarms without stopping the plc logic abruptly?

Alarms?  What alarms?  Did your logic include programming to handle errors for your SM1226 I/O and module and generate alarms?

How about the problem with the SM1226 card,

Diag. led is on, the rest of the outputs flash red.

Machine stops, no alarms.

Someone may have had a similar problem?

What OB error?  Do you mean my reference to creating a diagnostics error interrupt OB so your PLC can stay in run mode should a diagnostics error happen?

The diag buffer is the starting point.  The safety link provided by qwazee is probably going to be useful as well.

What type of Siemens safety PLC training have you had?  Or, are you trying to figure out the right way to use safety PLC hardware all on your own? Have you tried a sample safety PLC project from Siemens to see how they handle Safety IO modules?

What causes the OB error?

Logic does not include I / O errors and does not generate alarms.

Could this be due to the 24V supply?

I have not checked the diagnostic buffer.

The machine service itself cannot handle it ...

A reset is to disconnect power to this card for a while, then everything returns to normal.

Reset from the control panel does not work.
