HMI KTP400 Comfort and LOGO! 8.FS4

raresoc Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hello all! I have an HMI KTP400 Comfort (6AV2124-2DC01-0AX0) connected through Ethernet with an LOGO! 8.FS4 (6ED1052-2MD08-0BA0). HMI is starting outputs from LOGO! and displays some information from LOGO! inputs. I want to display at HMI a message and to activate a screen when is no communication between LOGO! and HMI, when Ethernet cable is unplugged. How can I do this? Is there some function? I tried to read a variable which change its status True - False at every 2 seconds sent from LOGO! to HMI, but this does not work because when HMI tries to read or write something to LOGO and Ethernet cable is unplugged the HMI program gets stuck in that point. Help me please!

Duris_I Diamond Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/27/2025 Posts: 10970 Rating: (844)	Hello, more possibilities probably. 1. life bit generated at PLC processed at HMI via script, you have Comfort panel. 2. use of some HMI special system area with PLC (check inside WinCC). HMI is stuck if ETH cable is disconnected, maybe then is system message available at bottom button (event buffer??) if you have still this at screen.

raresoc Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hi Duris_I. 1. Does not work, I tried this allready. If Ethernet cable is unplugged HMI does not read anymore that bit and program get stuck. 2. I will try it on monday. Any other ideas?
