Ayman Elotaify can you give me some link with manual or something else that could help me set everything using option 5 you mentioned with serial communication RS232. I don't see anywhere in program where I can choose that option. Under communications > set PG/PC interface I selected PC/PPI cable but I couldn't establish connection. Hello kijo, When You are selecting the PC/PPI Cable Click on the Proerties, & Select the Right COM Port which is Available for the Communication (Normally its COM1), other wise you have to checked in the Device Manger which one is right COM port.

kijo Posts: 79 Rating: (1)	Ayman I didn't find this Dip switches you are talking about. Ammy just for a few seconds I thought that my problem is solved. Connection was set to USB, and when I change it to COM1, it start searching at 19,2 kpbs 126 address. But that I get new error: Communications time-out. Check the port number, network address, baud rate, and the attached cable. I checked everything, but I don't see what I am doing wrong :/

Using Serial Communication RS-232: PPI cable6ES7901-3CB30-0XA0 ........... This product has dip switches in its side. Please have a look on the attached picture andtechnical specification. Hello kijo, from Screen Shot I can't able to find out which Cable used for Communication (Type MLFB no.) also you are Using the LPT port of the PC, you have to used the COM Port. LPT port is not available in the PG/PC Interface.

For all possibilities to Connect (Upload and download to S7-200) Using USBinterface PPI cable: 6ES7901-3DB30-0XA0 orUsingUSBinterface6ES7972-0CB20-0XA0--Phased Out orUsingUSBinterface6GK1571-0BA00-0AA0 Using DP interface of a PG: Profibus cable with two bus connectors Using Serial Communication RS-232: PPI cable6ES7901-3CB30-0XA0 In other words if you do not have 1 of these interfaces no communication possible. regards, Marcjan

Please do not try to find just a cable where the sockets looks liked and use for communication with Siemens CPUs. Specially in case we are talking for using the COM port of PC. Hello, No one can reply without telling us part number of your adapter. Kindly provide us with part number here, or check if your part number is exist in the 5-possibilities to connect with S7-200 in a previous post I have published in this thread. It seems that you stress on that both CPU and adapter have Sub-D 9 pin sockets. Fine, but a general rule:It does't mean that any socket withSub-D 9 pin is suitable for any CPU withSub-D 9 pin. Hope this helps.

kijo Posts: 79 Rating: (1)	Well this is really frustrating. I bought original cable USB/PPI Multi-master cable 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0 but I have same error message. In attachment you can see all setting related to communications. I tried both ports on PLC ( port 0 and port 1), and all USB ports on computer and nothing.
