Drive stop problem without fault messages

ercanbozi Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	There is a middle-voltage synchronous AC drive in the factory which I work. It's connected on profibus with master of Siemens CPU 416.Sometimes this drive stops by resulting no fault message so this situation is confusing me.I've observed about control and status words with the drive software and got the some signals like "run command", "E-stop" had missed, but its not possible in the PLC program. Drive is avaliable at the end of the profibus.I mean its last node of the bus. I think 24 nodes,fiber cable. What kind of problem is this?maybe releated with profibus baud rate?

PLC program Profibus If there isno detection for profibus connection in the plc code, you can check the fault history under "Module Information" under "Diagnostic/Setting" to see if CPU has detected any problem on the profibus. AC Drive If the AC Drive doesn't have any display that you can check the drive parameters and check faults on it, check the plc code and see if any fault bit or fault code is read from drive then you can go from there. Otherwise you better config your drive so it can pass its alarm to CPU. PLC program If Profibus or Ac Drive are not the cause of the problem, there is a possibility that the plc code has a bug which causes the AC drive to go into stop mode. dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/4/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2690)	Hello ercanbozi; Basically, the PLC diagnostic buffer shows 2 main problems: -OB86 (rack-failure) on slaves #13 and #14 -OB85 (program execution error): unable to transfer process image to output modules at addresses#100 and #104 Could you check in the HWConfig editor which slaves are identified with these addresses, and if they have output modules addresses starting with 100 and 104? Better still, if you find slaves with these addresses, please take a screencapture of the modules defined in their configuration, and post them here, so we can check your configuration. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier Edit: you say the drive is the last node on the network. You must remember that at both ends of the Profibus network a termination resistor must be set, and always powered. If you are using Profibus connectors, the termination resistor is available directly on it, and once it is set you just make sure that the drive remains powered. If you have terminals to connect the Profibus cable on your drive, check that there is a switch or connection that will implement the termination resistor, and make sure it is properly installed. If you remove power from the drive, the termination will no longer recieve power, the bus will see reflections and will give you intermittent problems that could look like those you have. If you must disconnect the drive, for maintenance for example, either use an external termination resistor, externally powered (Siemens sells those) or set the termination resistor on the next-to-last node before disconnecting the drive until it is ready to be part of the network again. How long is the Profibus cable? Is the Profibus cable separate from Power cable? Have you checked the Profibus connector to "Node14"? Regards, Behnam www.sigmaprocess.ca

ercanbozi Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	It's at the end of the profibus line. Fiber cable is how long I dont know actually.It's about 7m with previous station.Totally its about 200-250m. I've checked the profibus connector.

Do you get error on other nodes too? 3. Does the AC drive detect losing connection to Master CPU? 4. Does the profibus connection recovers on its own? Regards, Behnam www.sigmaprocess.ca
