Dear Experts,

                         Am using Wincc V7.4 Sp1 . I have done project in one System (PC) . And i copied the Project And paste in another System(PC). And i try to open the same copied project in new system . But its not opening.

                             Error Message is : WinCC Explorer - Server not available.

                                                                      Cannot Connect to server .

So . What can i do for that project backup opening . Kindly support this issue .

 <projectname>.mcp  ---------------------- Its available . 
<projectname>.ldf    ---------------------   not available. 
<projectname>.mdf    ---------------------   not available.
<projectname>RT.ldf    ---------------------  not available.
<projectname>RT.mdf ---------------------   file not available. 

And ,  <projectname>.dc* or .dcf  ---------------- .dcf file is available in my project folder ..

Kindly suggest what can i do .?

Dear Arasan,

The files that Georg pointed out MUST be available so it seems they were not copied from the original system.

Perhaps the files were locked while you copied the project (meaning the project was not closed)?

Make sure the project is completely closed and that you pack (zip) the project in one file when copying it (unless it is integrated in Step7; then you archive it with Step7 instead).

                                   I have taken my Project backup - Directly file menu bar and save as selection after i have copied the pendrive , and then i have open the same backup is another PC .

                                   Is it wrong . ?? So no other file file is not missing . 

                                    But in opening new pc .

                                       Error Message is :WinCC Explorer - Server not available.

                                                                               Cannot Connect to server .

Hello Arasan,

check, if really all file have been copied.
You should have in the WinCC-projectfolder:
<projectname>.mcp
<projectname>.ldf
<projectname>.mdf
<projectname>RT.ldf
<projectname>RT.mdf

If you have files with names:
<projectname>.dc* or .dcf

you should delete them.

Hi all,

if found the "<projectname>.dc* or .dcf"  in my project this has been generated after installation of wincc connectivity package  . 

i have deleted that file after which my alarms are generated .

I have the same problem (WinCC explorer - Cannot connect to server). Even thought I've read and I've followed step by step the showed indications, I cannot managed to fix this issue..

Please, Could you give me some other recommendations. I have this problem for 1 month.
