Do you have a quick tip for pulling data out of the telegram 352 structure?  I don't see it in an accessible PLC tag?

I just want to get output current from the G120 and am interested in doing it via the telegram that the PLC to VFD is already using without adding a Sina_Para FB.  It is using Sina_Speed for control and feedback, which is using telegram 352 for PN comms.  So, I believe that I should already be getting output current feedback in there somewhere?

Did you search your TIA Portal instructions for SINA_PARA?  I believe you will the drive library has been included as part of the built-in instruction set (instead of an add-on library).

The F1-Help should get you pretty quickly.

I don't know anything about G120C, but if your drive allows telegram 352, I recommend using that because it provides actual current automatically every update of the telegram's process image.

No need to mess around with SINA_PARA at all in that case.

If the G120C does not offer the flexibility to use telegram 352, if it allows supplementary data to be sent with the telegram, I recommend configuring that option and add the actual current added to the telegram.

It really is simpler (my opinion), or maybe it's simpler during commissioning because you do not need to figure out the correct HW ID (LADDR) or the parameter # or even get yourself in a situation where you need the LAcycCom library to manage the PN comms with the drives.  Having it the telegram removes that potential requirement.

FYI, LAcycCom is a very nice library that fits a very real need.  However, avoiding the need by having things in the telegram is well worth the little effort needed to get it working.

You may never run across a project requiring the LAcycCom library, so that part of it may never apply to you.  But if it might, not having to deal with it is nice.

I have a project that required it - until I found a way to get the extra parameter(s) into the telegram.  I immediately ripped out LAcycCom, which made the PLC logic get solved more often, resulting in tighter control and a happier customer.

I used Sina_Para in TIA V14 to read the current of a motor controlled by a G120C. Now, I want to do the same with TIA V15, but I see library is changed and I can't find how to do it again... please, any example or picture of how to do it? I think it must be easy but now I', blocked....

When You define telegram in your drive, you can also define (or it's doing automatically) Input and Output area, which telegram will occupy in PLC. Check the picture please.

So actual current of your drive will be appropriate input words from that adress.

easiest way to use telegram 352 is to use the SINA_SPEED_TEL352 function block from the LSinaExt library:

It works the same way as the "normal" SINA_SPEED FB for tel 1.

2 hints for usage:

- use the HW ID of the cyclic telegram 352 at the input parameter

- configure the correct reference values for speed, current,... (see parameters p200x in the drive)
