Hello SIOS-Forum Community, Sometimes the question arises how an address area can be combined? This is called "packing addresses". An application could be, for example, that 2 cards with 4 DO are used for a control system instead of one 8 DO card, as otherwise the maximum output current of the card would be exceeded. The requirement is that both DO cards should have the same output addresses. This feature "packing addresses" is only possible with ET200S boards and not in all cases. Information on this can be found in the following FAQ's : How can you group together the address area of the ET 200S (pack addresses)? This only plays a role in connection with SIMATIC S7 Classic CPUs, which had a limited process image. With the SIMATIC S7-1500 this does not matter because firstly the address range is huge and secondly it is completely in the process image. Best regards, SIMATIC International Technical Support Hub |
