Sinamics G120 with CU240E-2 DP-F

The CU is CU240E-2 DP-F and I'm trying to commision a converter using Starter. My question is if I can Parameterize the converter for controlling a motor via USB or USB to RS232 adapter if the converter is not installed on the motor. All I have tryed out untill now have failed. I tryed also USB and USB to RS232 adapter, but in the Starter when I'm selecting the PC/PG interface I tryed selecting the serial cable PPI with the afferent interface that is detected and also I tryed selecting PC-COM-Port(USS) with the afferent interface, respectively COM3. The error that is displayed after this step of commisioning is that "No devices have been found. Check the network connections and settings in "Set PG/PC interface"". Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. dear my suggestion is that u can communicate via s7300 plc by mpi adapter in is way of communication u have to use profibus in pg/pc interface and u will get communicate note check the profibus address in the cu dip switch thanks regards anbugeethan gowda

The problem is that I cannot understand why I cannot detect the CU from the Starter Software as long it is connected to the PC via USB or RS232 to USB adapter and I cannot test anything. The only problem that I can think of is that if the CU is not conected to the converter and it can not be detected by the software. So, I need some sort of confirmation that this is not working untill the CU is connected to the converter or if this is not the problem, a way to detect the CU in the Starter software. Thanks again.

Vios Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have only serial connection to my drive. My comoputer have not serial port and I use a converter USB/Serial.The configurations used are in attached file. Impossible to make connection to drive. For USB/serial converter I installed the drive delivered by producer on the CD exactlly for my OS - Windows 7 Professional - 64 bits. I then bought a small usb <~> rs485 converter and everything started working fine.

PISCEAN 2010 Diamond Member Joined: 4/23/2010 Last visit: 11/23/2024 Posts: 8092 Rating: (882)	Hello varunbudde, User can provide external 24 V DC supply to CU240S, terminal 31 +24V DC & terminal 32 0Volt. Advantage of doing so is, even if PM supply is OFF, CU can be in network & status can be seen. Hope this helps.
