How to upgrade SQL server from 2016 to 2022 for Wincc 7.5 SP2 Project

wondem Joined: 11/1/2021 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello I have installed Wincc 7.5 SP2 on window 10 system. It has SQL 2016 server. I use Wincc and SQL query to read write data. However i can not execute some function (Eg. STRING_AGG) due to old version of SQL server. I un install 2016 server selecting all Features including Wincc then I install SQL 2022. But i could not open any Wincc Project because it can not establish server connection.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 16290 Rating: (1930)	Hello wondem WinCC Is only compatible and released with the SQL Server Version that is this WinCC Version delivered with (on the same Computer) So in the compatibility Tool https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/64847781 only 2016 (64-Bit) SP3⁵⁾ and 2016 (64-Bit) SP2 is released with WInCC V7.5 SP2 (depends on the Update you use in WInCC) Bye Murof
