Hello.

I am currently using a WinCC 7.5 SP1 and there is an S7-1200 PLC connected via the SIMATIC S7-1200 channel.

However, there are more than 6 PCs that are using the same WinCC project and now it looks like when I open the fourth or fifth project and run the project, it doesn't connect to the PLC.

Is this problem related to the maximum allowable connections from the PLC to a WinCC project or can this be set on the connection resources section of the PLC Configuration? Am I missing something?

The device is a 1215 DC/DC/DC V4.4.

Hello,

     Yes, you have reached a limit for the 1200 plc so you may need to consider the 1500 plc now. You can use the faq below to monitor the number of connection resources being consumed. Each WinCC project configuration(more complex projects can consume more resources) can influence this.

Thanks for your reply, it really helps shed some light on my question.

For now, it's not possible to upgrade to an S7-1500, but maybe in the future.

What I was thinking is to enable and disable communication on 2 of the 6 stations that may not need to establish active connections.

To achieve this, I'll create a script to set the internal tag "@S71200_Caldera@ForceConnectionStateEx" to zero when connection is not required, based on the @LocalMachineName tag value. Do you think this could help? Otherwise, the stations that do require an active connection could still active and the others just be deactivated
