WINCC UNIFIED V20 RT MSSQL access

I've installed IIS, the runtime, and SQL Server Express 2022 on my local PC. In my test project, I configured the database type to use the MSSQL log file data format. However, I'm currently unable to download the project to the runtime. Every time I try, I get the following error: Error:Configured database type does not match the database installed on the target device. My question is: how can I configure the runtime to use MSSQL? I couldn’t find any relevant options in the Configurer. Thanks a lot for your help!

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 16349 Rating: (1931)	Hello Little_Cat_2020 If you want to use the SQL Server as datalogging in WinCC Unified PCRT then you need theOption "Database Storage": https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109963696 This is an own license and also a specific version of the SQL Server (own installation). what you cannot do is to just install an SQL Server and set the database usage in the TIa Portal project.
