Hello, my name is Mauro and I have the following issue:

When I power off and on the PLC, it loses the current position. I need to perform position control, for which I’m using Telegram 3 and have configured the drive in V-ASSISTANT with "Speed Control Mode", since I understand that the positioning is handled by the PLC and not by the drive.

I’m performing the positioning using Motion Control blocks (MC_POWER, MC_RESET, etc.).

Here is a description of the hardware and software involved:

• The technology object created is of type "TO_PositioningAxis" V7.0, so the control blocks (MC_POWER, MC_RESET, etc.) are also versionV7.0.

• The MC_HOME block is set to mode 7, since my encoder is absolute.

• I’m using aV90 PROFINET drive(6SL3210-5FB10-4UF1) and a servo motor(1FL6034-2AF21-1LB1) with a 20-bit absolute + 12-bit multi-turn encoder.

• The system is controlled by anS7-1200 PLC, model 1214C DC/DC/DC(6ES7 214-1AG40-0XB0),firmware version 4.4.

• The development software is TIA Portal V16.

I do not recall what it was, but there is something Siemens posted very recently announcing a fix for this specific type of problem.

Perhaps it is a new V20 firmware, or new V-Assistant, or something else entirely.  I apologize for not knowing more, but stopped reading after reading it had been fixed.
