dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/8/2025 Posts: 12401 Rating: (2717)	Hello S7Mgr; You are recieving good help and pointers from the forum, but you are still confusing us as to what ypu want to do: 3964R is a protocol (a procedure, actually, in Siemens' terms) that is available directly on the PtP CPs (CP 340/341, for example). You have simply to select it in the parametrization software for the CP 341, configure it and use the standard functions FC7/FC8 to exchange data with your comm partner (wish it was all that easy, there is some work fir you to do!): Example FAQ on setting up 3964R with CP 340 with sample project(same procedure with CP 341) http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1766265 A loadable driver for PtP CPs is a driver that is not available on the basic CP 341, and that yopu have to buy from Siemens; Modbus is one of them. Actually I have not worked with this thing previously nor any of my colleagues (i.e. 3964R or arcos unit), so everything is on us for the complete solution. We are giving Arcos unit as well in ourwhole automation package, so things are on us to get proper details from Vatron peoples. I was just clearing mydoubts regarding thecommunicationso that we can ask for something remaining on Arcos part as well. Anyways, thanks for thesolution as itis really very helpful and appreciable. dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/8/2025 Posts: 12401 Rating: (2717)	Hello qayyum faiz; If you read all the earlier posts of this thread, you will see that it is mentionned that you cannot have a gsd file for an equipment unless it acts as a Profibus-DP slave. So, does your Arcos unit have a Profibus-DP slave interface? If it does, and you have access to the vendor's website, you should be able to locate the gsd file for this Profibus slave quite easily, since it is the manufacturer's obligation to provide it. If you wanted to set up and configure another type of network, please inform us with more details. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
