replace S5 CPU

masobhy86 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hello All, Can I replace S5-95U CPU(Order Number: 6ES5095-8MA03) with another S5-100U CPU (Order Number: 6ES5103-8MA03)? Also can anyone pleaseclarify to me the differences between two types? Thanks and best regards

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (1000)	It is not so easy to do! It maybe not a very big problem to use the program in the 100U, but depending from the used functions, there must be done some changes. Have a look in the manual for integrated functions. Another thing is the hardware. May be, you need additional I/O, depending from the connections at the 95U. My advice: Do not change a 95U against 100U, but use a new S7-300 instead, i.e. CPU 314C.
