I have PLC connected with WinCC 6.0 through GPRS and OPC server. I need to update total 30 tags. Some tags 1 time per minute, some tags 1 time per 10 minutes. Theoretically I calculated that in month traffic must be ~30 MB. But parallel I have very big traffic from WinCC , as I understand that are quality control. Is it possible to check quality only when tag is read or is it possible to decrease update rate of quality control?

Yes, you are right! But, WinCC (as OPC client) besides “update cycles” transmit other information (as I think “tag quality control”).

For example:

I have only 1 tag (without any scripts and other thinks) and update cycle of tag is 10 sec. I connect parallel “serial port snifer” and I see that tag value is updated with cycle 10 sec, but other information is transmitted with cycle ~ 250ms with ~40 byte packets.

For each MB we must pay money and I want to cut “this other” information.
