SQL Server Database Backup for Central Archive Server

I created a database maintenance plan of creating backups of all the databases every 12nn, twice a week. Most of the time, back-up is successful, but sometimes it is not. I have included a log file of the database maintenance plan from SQL as reference. According to the log file, it seems that I should not include all the databases. My next question would be, has anything changed on the server - configurations, modification of the project, etc.? Looking at the reports, it appears the system is trying to back up a database that was from a previous OS download, or some similar type of event where something changed in the system, and that set of DB's had been deleted.

I will send you the script on my next post, I am still waiting for it on my email. Does this mean that everytime I make a compilation of the PCS7 project, I have to reconfigure the Database Maintenance plan in SQL Server? Recently we have added some tags to the PCS7 System butI havent checked if there was a change in the databases of the Central Archive Server and I just made the maintenance plan 1 time only and I included all databases in the backup script. There was a check mark to select all databases during the configuration and I checked it because I dont know which specific databases are necessary for the backup. Regards, Jenie

I changed my ES computer name a few months ago, and behold, the old instance of the database is still listed (actually the exact same database, but navigation to it is different -- i.e. newPCname\WinCC). Just happened to stumble across that yesterday. So if I had tried to backup that database, it would no longer exist, and of course fail. HTH, Jim
