In one of the projects, we have PCS7 V6.1+SP1. We have one ES-OS and two Operator Stations connected to AS-417. It is not Client server architecture. All three PCs (ES+OS, OS1 & OS2) are communicating with AS using Industrial ISO protocol. There are no CP-1613. Computer's in built Ethernet cards are used. Over the same network, a third party MIS software I-Fix is taking data from ES+OS over OPC. I-Fix is OPC Master and ES-OS is OPC Client. The number of OPC tags are approximately 1000. In OS Configuration, we have added a OPC channel via OPC.chn. All OPC tags are taken from PCS-7 Process tags. A pre-fix OPC is added to each tag.

The problem is - If the value of Process tag is not changed for more than 5-10 seconds, the OPC tag shows config error. When we observed the same tags in OPC scout, it shows Config Error". Also, the quality code of OPC tag is bad value. Quality code of process tag shows Healthy.

What should we do?

A temporary solution was as follows. We have configured a global script. It reads each process tag, writes the value in OPC tag. This is done for 20 tags and the script update time is 5 seconds. We have not faced any problem for these 20 tags in last one week. But the same can not be done for 1000 tags. Please suggest.
