OS client and OS-server cofiguration in PCS7 v7.0

Using PCS7 v7.0 I can not insert two IE general cards in ES Station in HW Config. But i dont have any CP1613 card. On OS serverareinstalled Windows server 2003 SP1 and PCS7 v7.0 os server standard software It has also two IE general network cards one for plantbus and one for terminal. Engineering station has winxpsp2 and PCS7 v7.0 engineering standard software. And also two network cards IE general. Client has winxpsp2 and os client standard software and one IE general network card. Is there any guide like for vesion 6.x ID: 17498343? Dorftrottel? Silver Member Joined: 8/10/2006 Last visit: 12/4/2025 Posts: 298 Rating: (29)	Having installed 7.0 5x in the last month, working off that guide (Topic ID 17498343) is a great template. Unfortunately, you can only have one IE general (standard Ethernet NIC) installed in any station configuration. You know you can run System (Plant) Bus and Terminal bus off the same port. Use ISO/MAC communications for the System Bus connection to the AS, and TCP/IP for the Terminal bus communication. In the setups I did, I had the ES on Standard Ethernet, communicating to the AS via ISO, and connecting to the Server and Clients via TCP/IP. Haven't had a problem yet. I have CP-1613's in the Server and Clients for Time Sync purposes and fault tolerant connections. You don't need a CP1613 in a non-redundant setup like you have, but in my opinion, it's worth it if you can fit it into your budget. For redundancy, I would not even consider working without one. In this case you have two configure the IE general card which is connected to the plantbus inside Netpro and station configurator. The IE general card which is connected to the terminalbus has not be configured at all, but it is mandatory that the terminalbus card is on first place in thenetwork connections order(Network Connections -> Advanced -> Advanced Settings -> Adapters and bindings). Also check that the terminalbus card is selected in Simatic Shell: Windows Explorer -> Simatic Shell -> Settings -> Selection of the terminalbus Make sure that the terminalbus card is displayed with correct IP Adress and is displayed in blue color.

I tryed this, but on the client on the other computer as ES i cant see the faceplates from server, only messages.On the client on the ESeveything is working. I cantdownload theClient station on the other computer bacausethere isno connection. In net pro i have just plant bus. So in Station Configuration Editor on Client, station isnt loaded but it is configured. I can configure it from my ES (PLC\Configure). What can i do that i could seealso pictures on client on the other computer? Best regards by Janko

The download of the client is configuredfor normal windows networking by setting the correct computer name and selecting the share for downloading in the client PC object on the ES. If downloading doesn't work this is generally because the share permissions or security have not been configured correctly. Try if you can create a text file in thedownload folder on the clientwith the windows explorer on the engineering station. If this works then the download should also work.

The faceplates didnt show up because i change the os project on the OS server (WinCC explorer)and then i didnt assign it again on the client. (server data in WinCC explorer ) (I didnt load the server package on the client.) This configuaration works fine Best regards Janko
