We have next hardware configuration:

S7-400H system, based on CPU 412-5 H PN/DP. Two racks 0,1.

Each rack has :

slot 1 - PS405 10A;

slot 3 - CPU 412-5 H PN/DP;

slot 5 - CP 443-5 A1, is used as DP master for one DP segment.

slot 6 - CP 443-5 A2, is  used as DP master for another DP segment.

slot 7 - CP 443-1 A1, is used for Modbus communication to high level.

The problem is on Rack 1, there were damaged CPs (slot 5,6). CPU on Rack 1 was in stop. CPs were removed and we put new two with same order number as on Rack 0 but with different versions 7.1.7 (on rack 0 we have v7.1.6). All was done according to procedure described in SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H system manual. 

After that redundancy wasnt retrieved but both controllers are in RUN. According to system manual CPs on both racks should be totaly identical. As it was mentioned we have different versions. 

We decided to make versions compatible on both racks by removing CP from slot 6 rack 0 and installing it to rack 1 slot 5 and do the same for CP v7.1.7. 

The question is, does CP removing from rack 0 without its power off result in CPU stopping?

There is one redundant DP master on slot 6 which is not essential for process and lossing of DP slaves connected to it for some time will not cause trip. This is actualy a reason of removing. But CP (v7.1.6) on slot 5 rack 0 is very important and we cannot disconnect it from rack. The new CPs we want to install have version 7.1.7. So is it possible to downgrade them and download firmware v7.1.6? And anyway if we remove CP on powered rack will we stop CPU or swith to another?
