Hello friends, I'm in 2020, but now I'm reading your posts, and having problem to connect ABB CI801 I/O to CPU315, I've tried GSD (1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5) versions, and none worked, this putz the cpu in profibus communications failure.

Can anybody help me please?

What error messages do you get, and when do you get them? When you dowload to the PLC, when you run it...?

What diagnostic LEDs are active, BF. SF?

Are you using Step 7 v5.5 or Step 7 v1x Professional(TIA Portal) to program your CPU?

What are the contents of the CPU's diagnostic buffer? Use the Save As... button in the diagnostic buffer page to log all the messages of the buffer to a text file, and attach this file to your next post.

 Try to insert CI801 in slot 1 of HW config. Don't start with IO in HW config (DI801/DO801/ etc).

Ok friend, sorry for my delay, I ended up installing another model, "Beckhoff", So I'm need to use these ABB's I/O's (CI801) cause I thing they have fast inputs (I guess).

The problem happens when I try to start module, after download, and the failure is on communication beteween PLC and CI801, I've tried a lot of GSD versions, but without sucess...

I'm using the TIA Portal V15.1.
