LOGO and WINCC Basic V11 SP2

AustinFrank Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	When i purchased the LOGO ethnernet version, it came with SIMATIC WinCC Basic V11 SP2. I found the 1400 page manual on line. No where in it does it show how to connect to the LOGO. I have set the IP of the LOGO and my PC to1 digit apart. I can load programs from SoftComfort 7. When i scan for devices on the LAN nothing shows up. I can Ping just fine. Is there a LOGO version of the WinCC manual?

AustinFrank Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Thanks Wizzard, i had almost gotten this far. I was going to do simulation on the PC for a customer who will be using a S7 as a master for this LOGO. I was hoping to interact directly with the LOGO via PC. I need to transfer a value to the LOGO to a tag location that i will convert to an anlog value. I will then read a retrun value converted from Analog to data back to the HMI along with alarms as generated. I think i am confused. Do i need an additional HMI to communicate to the LOGO?

mika09 Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Hello Austin Frank, as Ihave already dealed with some programms for LOGO! and HMI connection I would like to help you!! Firstly: When you want to test if your PC communicates with the LOGO! click on the instruction "detect", witch you can see on step 6 of the link How can you set up a connection between a LOGO! 0BA7 and an HMI Panel? above. When yes occurs then your PC communicates sucessfully with your LOGO! Secondly: WinCC Basic V11: You can use a I/O field where you can write a value witch occurs in the LOGO! Soft Comfort programm.You have to parameterize a variable for this I/O field. LOGO! Soft Comfort: You need to programm a block as a network input. With right click on the block you can give in the block-properties the adress witch is linked with the adress you have set up for the variable of the I/O field in the WinCC programming. Then you can modify this value using other blocks! How to link the values between WinCC and LOGO! Soft Comfort is also described in the link above!! So, this was just a first instruction! AustinFrank Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	I am able to communicate with the LOGO via the Soft Comfort with no problem. I write the program and down load it to the LOGO. I at trying to set up the link between the Basic WinCC portal and the LOGO. I talked to the local supplier today an he said it might not show up on the scan due to the anti virus software we are using. I have set up the locations in the LOGO for the Network IO just cannot link to them like connecting a S7 to the logo. When i do the connect, none of the I/O in the LOGO show up as expected. When I select Online, Access Devices , and use the drop down menue to select PN/IE and my local ethernet card that i conenct to via Softcomfort, the program scanns and comes back with no accessable devices found on network. Am i missing something. Next step is to try National Instruments software, sure though this should work. Thanks Poncho

mika09 Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Hello AustinFrank, try the followingsteps in WinCC V11: 1.Right click on Devices&Networks-> Right click on the green Ethernet icon in the device and -> Add Subnet (except you have already done this) 2.Right click on Device Configuration-> Right click on the green Ethernet icon in the device->click on Propertiesand check if the IP-Adress of the HMI is with 1 digit apart from the PC and the LOGO! 3.Check if in the tag table the Acquisition cycle is 100ms andin the fieldConnection is the one you have set up. 4.Right click on the HMI device->Compile->All before you try to connect. 5.Click on Online&Diagnostics-> PG/PC interface->PN/IE->Go Online I'am waiting for news! I need to do a demo for a customer who will be controlling the LOGO via S7-300. When I do an Add Device the only option is for the differnet HMI panels. Frank

Please choose for example a KTP600 PN. Make the right connection, as mentioned in my earlier link. And when you are ready with program, you can Simulate the panel on your PC. Please make sure you set the right parameters in PG/PC interface. (Go to Control Panel (PC) -> Set PG/PC interface and make sure it is "S7online -> TCP/IP (ethernet card you use)" Then it is possible to simulate your KTP600 panel on your PC and communicate with the LOGO! AustinFrank Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	I am having problems with Basic V11 SP2 again. I have a program running on two laptops that work. B oth using the online simulation. When i try to run it on a desktop, it will not communicate. I have set the IP correctly. I can download programs. The test connection function works correctly. I take the same program running on one computer and put it on another with the key code installed and it will not simulate. It is communication based on the network light. When i look at the simulated screen, none of the values are viewed from the PLC, also when i try to send a value. I get the error, cannot transfer value to PLC. Thanks Frank

Go to Control Panel (PC) -> Set PG/PC interface and make sure it is "S7online -> TCP/IP (ethernet card you use)" When I try to do the same on the desktop in the lab, TCP/IP does not show up as an option for the installed card. I may try putting an older card in and see if it works.
