DP-ID ???

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/9/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello RBM The "DP ID" shows you(the first byte of) the Configuration Identifier value for the I/O module in that Slot. The value is displayed purely for your info, you do not need to "worry" about its value, nor do anything with it. These ID values are sent to the DP Slave as part of the "Check configuration" telegram which is sent to the DP Slave on bus startup (or after a Slave drops off the bus and comes healthy again), and this taken care of by the DP Master (as said before, you needn't worry about these values, this is pure additional info for your perusal). You'll also find these module ID values in the GSD fileand attached is a "decoding table" which shall help in curing your couriosity (only in German I'm afraid and courtesy of Max Felser who is one of the authorities in this field and has some more really nice info (German only, sorry) available on http://profibus.felser.ch/).
