malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hello guys i have couple of questions. i'm doing an alarm monitoring system using s7-1200 and comfort HMI TP900. 1) when i recieve an alarm i activate output (siren), how can i silence the siren by acknowledging the alarm while the alarm is still active. (ladder diagram: input alarm contact in series with siren output coil) 2) is there a way to update the HMI screens by USB flash drive?

Nelliyan randy Posts: 461 Rating: (29)	HI, This can be done automatically as well as user based Automatically: Simply use a off delay timer for exp 5s between the alarm ip & siren.So that the siren will be off after 5 sec even if the alarm ip was coming. User Based: Make alarm ip as positive edge & set the op siren ... If u want user to acknowledge it use a button in the HMI to reset the siren.. NOTE: In both the cases u have to give alarm in regular period till the error has not been solved even if user is acknowledging it... Hope it helps Regards, Nelliyan.G

Nelliyan randy Posts: 461 Rating: (29)	Hi , U have to use a seperate logic with a Alarm Input contact [not Pos] + NC of mFlag + timer + coil of Mflag This logic will trigger the Mflag coil for every respective time whenever the ip was sill present , this Mfalg contact has to be parallely added to the alarm ip, this will trigger the siren & again the user will ack it. malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	hey guys, thanks for your responses the thing is that i'm still working the codeso what i did up to now is complete crap (for this part only), so let me explain to you the logic and i hope you can help me with the code: i have several digital alarms and analog alarms (limit violations) when an alarm is triggered it is shown in the alarm viewer (status: I) and a siren will sound untill the alarm is acknowledged by an external ip push button or the alarm viewer acknowledgment button , the alarm should still be displayed on the viewer but the acknowldgment is supposed to silence the siren only. after acknowldgment the alarm should remain on the viewer (status: IA) untill it is cleared physically from the input side.

malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	ok, in the HMI alarms, when i select one alarm and go to inspector window , in propertise tab, i get to select the PLC acknowledgement tag, or HMI acknowledgment tag, i can set the HMI ack tag, but the value of the selected bit doesnt change after i ack the alarm and i cant select any PLC ack tag, no idea why what is the difference between HMI and PLC ack tags?

malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	ok now i got the siren set and reset logic part, thanks but my problem now is with the HMI ack tag/or PLC ack tag which is supposed to be set when alarm is acknowledged and sent to the PLC. am i supposed to use another bit from the same trigger tag for ack ? i want to have 2 options, to ack the alarm from the alarm viewer ack button as well as external Push button from the PLC

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 8/27/2025 Posts: 4416 Rating: (1484)	Hi, by alarm definition (that takes one bit), you can alse configure a bit for ack from PLC (2nd bit) and/or a bit for the HMI send a ack command to PLC (3rd bit). All 3 bits are independents... The ack HMI->PLC is triggered by ack button of the alarm object.
