Implementing IP244 functions in S7-300 system

The process is mostly temperature control in an extruder. The existing S5 system contains two IP244-cards for the temperature control. My question is if there is an equal temperature control card in S7-300, or am I stuck with the software PID-regulators that are avilable in the system? A couple of years ago I saw a S7-300 system dedicated to temperature control in machines for the plastic industry. Are they still sold, and what would be the advantage to use one of those if they still exists? Please feel free to comment on any part! /Peter

Remove all old cards, build new system using S7-300 and use internal software PID functions. Bestr egards, Hristo Mihalev
