How to change measuing range for integrate analog input in CPU 314-IFM?

Vijay_Khatri Posts: 23 Rating: (2)	Hi all, I am unable to change measuring range of integrated Analog inpts in my CPU 314-IFM. It is currently set to +10V to -10V. I need to change it. Please tell how to do that? we can select the measuring/output range for analog I/O module in HW confugration but I can not find any option for integrated analog I/O. Please guide.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 12396 Rating: (2717)	Hello Vijay; The integrated Analog Inputs of the CPU 314IFM can only be connected to ± 10 V or ±20 mA signals, and the selection is done on the wiring of the module terminal block; this can be seen on the following screencapture from the S7-300 CPU specifications reference manual. Can you please email me the book/manual from which you got the attached picture? I need S7-300 and M7-300 Programmable Controller Module Specification Manual and I can not find this manual on the Siemens Website. Beecause analog channels resolution is near 10 mV. and J-type thermocouple's signal is very small, and it gives 10mV on 250 degree celcius. So, how I would be able to sense voltages lower then 10mV using analog inputs?

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	No. You can not use thermo-couples directlywith the integrated AI of 314-IFM. The integratedAIonly support +/- 10v and +/-20mA. Either you will have to use an externalsignal conditioner to convert thermo-coupletype to 0-20mA or 0-10V. Otherwise you need to use AI modules compatible with thermocouple
