inkman Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have experienced slow tag writing speed with vb script. I am using Simatic OPC server on a MPI network with 187.5K and Wincc is OPC client.There are about 20 s7-200s and one s7-300. It takes about 25 seconds to write about 12 tags. Is there some problems with hardware or software or it is just the way it is. Please advise.

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Have you tried using SetTagMultiWait to write to all tags in one go. This is usually much faster than writing to tags one by one. If you want you can post your script here and we can take a look at it.

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Hello If you have WinCC V6 SP3 or above then you can use the TagSet object in your VBS script. It is explained in the WinCC manual under:- Working with WinCC -> VBS for Creating Procedures and Actions -> VBS Reference -> Objects & Lists -> TagSet Object The idea is to add all the tags into a group, assign values and then perform one write. Below is an example from the manual: [code] 'The following example shows how to generate a TagSet object, how to add tags, 'and how to write values. 'VBS168 Build a Reference to the TagSet Object Dim group Set group = HMIRuntime.Tags.CreateTagSet 'Add Tags to the Collection group.Add "Motor1" group.Add "Motor2" 'Set the Values of the Tags group("Motor1").Value = 3 group("Motor2").Value = 9 'Write the Values to the DataManager group.Write [/code] I have not used this object but have used the C equivalent (SetTagMultiWait) and it always gives me better performance. I guess this VBS object would also speed up your script. Good luck!
