danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 1209 Rating: (222)	You are correct. There is no HART DTM driver file (for Pactware) for the LR460. The manufacturer is responsible for providing device-specific configuration driver files in various protocols for various platforms. The manufacturer is the only one that can do that because they're the ones with the 'inside' information needed to write the drivers. The LR460 has Profibus PA driver file. The LR460 has HART driver files for Siemens PDM, and the Rosemount 375/475 handheld communicators. But there is no HART DTM for the LR460. Neither I nor anyone else can help you with something that does not exist. I'd suggest that you invest in a single tag license for SIemens PDM software. It is a Windows software app that communicates to a field device via a USB/HART modem. The software is relatively inexpensive; the USB/HART costs more. This path is far less costly than a hand held communicator. (there is no support for 375 or 475 communicators any longer). Be aware that there is fairly steep learning curve in the steps needed to "create a project" in order to connect to a field device, unless you're already familiar with Siemens Step 7 software.

In order to be able to download it, you must also register for export restricted software. Once the check has been completed, you can make downloads. Please note that after two years you will receive an E-mail asking whether the authorization should be extended. The Sitrans DTM V4.1 is a DTM file required by Pactware to run any Siemens device-specific DTM file. In order to communicate with a Siemens field device, Pactware requires either - both the Sitrans DTM V4.1 and the device-specific DTM (there is no device specific DTM for the LR460) - both the Sitrans DTM V4.1 and the generic HART driver for Pactware. The generic HART driver is quite limited in its functionality. I never used the generic HART driver to access the basic zero and span settings so I don't know whether that works properly. if you need PC/HART access to an LR460, I still think you need a single tag PDM and a USB/HART modem.
