Simatic Logon and HMIs - HOW TO???

I want to use Simatic Logon for accessing Siemens HMIs. My questions are: I must install Simatic Logon at server side, am I right? Do I have to make changes in every HMI panel? Do I need the backup program of each HMI panel to make changes through WinCC Flexible / WinCC (TIA)? Many thanks!

If you would like to use Simatic Logon for Panels. the panels need acces the PC for authentication. For the Panels you need additional licenses: Logon Remote Access (3 Clients) 6ES7658-7BA00-2YB0 Logon Remote Access (10 Clients) 6ES7658-7BB00-2YB0 see the manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109748663 Regards Georg Berghof

For the PC with Simatic Logon, can I install Windows Server 2016? Inside Siemens refers Windows Server 2012 R2, but in my factory, the IT does not support Windows Server 2012 R2. Regarding the panels: Should I make any changes in every panel or the panels are a "black box" for me? Should I have installed at my laptop the configuration program of the panel (e.g. WinCC) and having the HMI backup program from the manufacturer of the machine? Regards

It comes with WinCC V7.5. which is released for Windows Server 2016. For configuration with a panel see the FAQ: "How do you encrypt the connection between SIMATIC Logon and a Comfort Panel or a WinCC Runtime Advanced?" https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109480490 Regards Georg Berghof

Thanks for your help! no, you don't need WinCC V7.5. bg2492 just mentioned that this WinCC version is released for Windows Server 2016 and therefor the Simatic Logon version which is delivered with it, is released for this operating system, too.
