ET200SP F-DQ output activate/deactivate

I corrected some of them by de-selected the Activated check box on the unconnected outputs of this F-DQ module. In other applications of this module I have had no problems with unconnected outputs that had Activated checked. Is there a standard best practice or method to determine whether selecting that check box is necessary or not?

Cocolino Silver Member Joined: 4/8/2021 Last visit: 8/26/2025 Posts: 640 Rating: (114)	Hi Steve, According to the manual that checkbox is used whenever you want to enable/disable a specific channle of the F-DQ module. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/78645789/42115299467 Therefore, I would say the best practice would be to check it only if there is a signal connected to that channel. Have you looked inside the PLC's diagnostic buffer? Maybe there is more information give more hint about possible causes.
