I am building a project in which i have to use cursor keys in order to operate the system.
Is there any way to make a cursor key have more than 1 function?
For example, i would like the user to decide manual or auto function and then decide to switch on/off some valves, pump etc. This means the user have to change some screens and then press one key for on and another for off.
But there is also need for some cursor keys in order to reset some alarms or start another auto function. Then there is one more key that skips some phases in this automated function. In other words i managed to simplify the system but i cannot go bellow 6 different keys that do different things. As far as i am concerned there are only 4 cursor keys in my module so i believe i have to make some of them have more than 1 function.

Is this achievable in logo! 8.3  and if yes, how can i do that?

Is there any way i can cycle through message texts on screen without using the cursor keys?

For example, every active message text to be shown for 5 seconds and then change message for another 5 seconds. This proccess would not stop at all, just cycle forever as long as there are active messages.

Which cursor keys are you hoping to use? Is it the group keys on the LOGO! itself. See the red dot in the picture for the location.

Are you aware that the cursors only give their state when you are in a specific screen page. See the arrow below.

Selecting a function (with the screen) and the using the cursor keys to manipulate the movement/action is not going to work in a user friendly way.

I am very sorry for misguiding you. In my program, the end user is requesting some functions to be done with the cursor keys. These functions are at least 6. I also have 7 valves that require to be controlled manually. I am aware that i have to press esc + cursor key in order to activate a function. I was just curious if i could somehow lead the user to choose from manual to auto behavior and if he choose manual, then through displayed texts he could use for example up and down arrows for on/off of a valve, and right left arrows in order to switch message and change the status of another valve. Meanwhile in automatic behavior, all 4 cursors are all used to do different things and there is need for 2 more cursors for more functions.
In conclusion i now know that i cannot use the same cursor key for more than one function and i am trying to reduce the cursor keys that i need. So i decided to try and cycle through displayed texts (always talking about manual mode) by time and in this time i could turn on/off some valves with using just up/down arrows. In this occasion i will not have to use right and left to cycle through texts. But as i can understand from what you are saying is that this is very complex and even impossible.

i am really sorry, i am new to this field and i am currently not sure about how to create such a program. I am just asking if this can be done so i won't waste any time searching for something that cannot be done.
