I am having some issues related to the BF (Bus Fault) function on my CPU 315 2DP/PN. I am trying to connect it to other devices on my network, but I keep getting the BF signal which is preventing me from establishing communication.

I have tried checking all the Ethernet connections and ensuring that everything is properly set up, but the problem persists. It seems like there may be some underlying issue that I am not aware of.

If anyone has any experience dealing with this type of problem or has any suggestions for what I can try next, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

The bus error is due to interface problems. Have you correctly assigned the Profibus addresses? Also check the terminating resistors.

your situation show PN network so no termination is expected in this case. I expect your problem in not defined PN device names at specific nodes, although in case you have defined IPs correctly. You need do this in every device in HW cfg where also option about check name is located. Next procedure can be download also diagnostic OBs to PLC as solution like possible break of PLC functionality with STOP or cable disconnect/reconnect.

I removed the Ethernet network since I did not have any nodes connected to it. This resolved the issue.

you said that you're trying connect devices so in case you don't have that devices connected and have some configuration of them set, you'll have errors becaus esystem expect that devices accessible. Your last post is somehow not clear why you do that what you do but then is no clear also why you ask for solution if you don't have that devices configured and also connected.
