I use an IoT2050 with ExampleImage (debian 5.10.64) First step: When I try to mount an smb share with cifs i had some trouble with special characters in folders and filenames. Command: sudo mount -t cifs -o rw,vers=3.0,username=testuser //172.22.84.31/data /mnt/test Second step: If I try to mount the share with cifs and iocharset=utf8 i get an error(79) Command: sudo mount -t cifs -o rw,vers=3.0,iocharset=utf8,username=testuser //172.22.84.31/data /mnt/test Errror: mount error(79): Can not access a needed shared library Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) and kernel log messages (dmesg) It looks like the charset utf8 is not installed. locales shows LANG=en_US.UTF-8 Butgrep -i nls_utf8 /boot/config* shows # CONFIG_NLS_UTF8 is not set Has someone other the same issue? greetings Daniel Attachment Screenshot.png (836 Downloads)

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 3345 Rating: (382)	Hi, for the Example Image you can solve that by adding CONFIG_NLS_UTF8=y to the file iot2050_defconfig_extra.cfg and build the image on your own. How to build the image on your own is described in the ReadMe. Best regards!
