Hi 

I have added a "Simatic pc station" to my project. Then I open the PC station by HWC and put a "Wincc Appl" in the PC station. When I want to "save" the HWC or equally "save and compile", the program (HWConfig) stops working and "not responding" alarm appear (attached pic),,, so I have to close it in task manager and when open it again my changes are not saved.

Please say what is the problem,,,,, because it happens with no error ?

another question I have is that I have bought a scalance switch model XB005 (6GK5005-0BA00-1AB2). This IEswitch does not exist in HW catalog and I have read in siemens forum that it is an unmanaged switch and can not be used ??? 

What is scalance XB005 used for and how I can put it in my project? (( I have 2xCPU 414-5H and 2xCP 443-5 in my system. I want to connect these part with 2xPC station as a redundant system )).

yes I can create project using WINCC explorer with no error.

but I can not add an OS to my my project neither add Wincc appl or CP1623 to my OS. sometimes during these procedures I see this error :

error:
compile(310:24)
the object OS(4) could not be created in wincc(createobject)

Are you using a domain administrator user login in this case?

If yes, please check if your domain user is added to the required SIMATIC groups like SIMATIC HMI,SIMATIC Management Users, SIMATIC NET and Siemens TIA Engineer (as applicable) in Users & Groups in Computer Management. Run the stored procedure 'sp_grantlogin' to grant access to the domain user which are currently using and this has to be done with a user which is a part of 'Administrator' group.

Login with this user to SQL Server Management Studio. -> Connect to the WinCC DB instance -> Select New Query -> Execute the following query sp_grantlogin ‘Domain\Domain User’ -> Restart the Engineering Station

Usually addition of WinCC Application in a new PC station takes some time and if we click and try some action during this time, it enters not responding state (Observed this in my PCS7 903 setup as well as older versions).

Scalance unmanaged switches are not usually added to the HW configuration. However, if rightly configured and setup, it should be visible in the 'Edit Ethernet node -> Browse' window of listed devices in network.

I have almost got what you mean (actually already I have added different simatic group to my account ,,, which indeed is an administrator, but the problem yet exists) ,,,,,,,, except the saying about 'sp_grantlogin'... what should I do about this and sql ?

Hello,

Step 1:Add domain user “Domain\username” to the required Simatic groups - SIMATIC BATCH, SIMATIC HMI, SIMATIC Management Users, SIMATIC NET and Siemens TIA Engineer.

Step 2:Run stored procedure “sp_grantlogin” to grant access to the domain user. Please note, this script has to be run with a user with Administrator access user in our case.

To perform step 2:

Login with non domain user  (but with administrator access) and Open SQL Server Management Studio

Connect to WINCC DB instance -> Select “New Query” -> Execute the query -sp_grantlogin ‘Domain\Username’ -> Type the query and click on “Execute” button.

Restart the machine after running the query.

Hi, I'm having the same issue, I created a new project using the wizard and everything seemed fine, I could even add a few SIMATIC PC Stations with WinCC Appl. When I added an additional SIMATIC PC Station, configure its hardware with a WinCC Appl and save the HW Config stops responding and it doesn't matter how long I wait it never responds again, I have to finalize the process from the task manager and the changes I made get discarted.

Does somebody know how to fix this?

Updt: It seems this problem just happens when I add a second SIMATIC PC Station with a WinCC Appl. Client or any other type of WinCC Appl., I just added a OPC Server and it got compiled and saved successfully

if you add a WinCC Appl. Client or any other type of WinCC Appl. in HW Config it can take up to 10 Minutes to create everything, after you click on the save button in the HW Config. And in this time the HW Config will not respond. If you create a WinCC Appl. in the HW Config copy all data (like all @pictures) from the root folder and will copy to the project folder.

Can you please wait 10 to 15 minutes and please don't let you disturb from the no responds.
